Suitable for various activities

The Main Hall is a large space, suitable for various activities and it is 15 metres long, 8 metres wide making 122 square metres with a sloping ceiling at least 3 metres high throughout.

Facilities included in your main hall hire:

  • 20 matching folding tables
  • 2 larger folding tables
  • Upholstered seating for 90
  • 30 further plastic chairs
  • 6 benches that can double as a small stage
  • Access to the kitchen with:
  • Water boiler for teas and coffees
  • 5 hob stove
  • 2 separate oven sections
  • Microwave
  • Plates, cutlery, mugs, bowls (but you need to wash them up and put them back, or put them into the dishwasher before the end of your hire)
  • Tea towels
  • Bluetooth enabled hifi with multiple speakers
  • Mops, brooms and similar for cleaning the floor at the end of your hire
  • There is a hatch from the kitchen to the hall so that refreshments can be served from there
  • Off the hall is an external patio area with seating for 20 and sufficient space for a large BBQ if you wish to bring one

An atmospheric area with small tables

This room is an atmospheric area with small occasional tables and upholstered chairs, perfect for a small social occasion of up to 25 people. There is a solid wood bar and shelving behind. Licences have to be applied for (from the authorities) if alcohol is to be sold.

Facilities included in your bar hire:

  • Around 25 upholstered seats arranged around tables of 3 to 6
  • Tablecloths can be provided for your hire on request, however we request that you wash these afterwards and return them cleaned and folded
  • Glasses are available for use (wine and beer)
  • There is a small kitchenette accessed from behind the bar which houses a large fridge (requires at least 24 hours notice so that it can be turned on) and sink unit
  • There is a small freezer in the bar area (requires at least 24 hours notice so that it can be turned on)
  • Beer mats and tea towels for washing up
  • A selection of plastic flowers for table decorations
  • A small speaker for playing your own music through

Our small meeting room

The Kite’s Nest, our small meeting room, is accessed via the Bar Room, and is ideal for businesses, small groups and organisations to gather, meet and hold training sessions. The room houses a boardroom table and upholstered chairs seating up to 12 people.

There is also a kettle (mugs, teaspoons etc available upon request).

  • There is a hatch from the kitchen to the hall so that refreshments can be served from there

Access all areas, and park

The side of the hall has an area reserved for disabled parking, enabling easy access to a gentle sloped walkway to reach the front door. We also have a fully equipped disabled toilet.

A well furnished play area for children

Outside in the sports field next door is a well furnished play area for children. The sports field is used by the Downley Dynamos Youth Football Club who play during the winter season. Dog walking is allowed around the perimeter and a dog waste bin is available to the side of the car park.
